The March 20th New Super Moon, Solar Eclipse and Equinox

Written by Sherrie Locke on 9 Batz and 10 Road, March 2015

Total Solar Eclipse and Spring Equinox 2015Bam! After the three-year, seven-hit, Pluto Uranus Square has completed, we get a brand new Super Moon ripe with a Solar Eclipse (they always occur on a New Moon) and the four precious minutes of the Equinox. It’s the Spring Equinox in the Northern hemisphere, the Autumnal Equinox in the Southern hemisphere.

Change, change, change, and now you have the green light to move forward in a big way with your dreams and visions. You even get to consider moving forward in significant relationships of all types be they personal, business or family.

After the last three years (since June 24th 2012) showing us what changes have needed to occur, and the Uranus lightening bolts bringing the unknown to light, we can lick our wounds, pick up the remaining pieces and get on with life. In a big way.

There will still be adjustments to be made through June until the Solstice. After that, we are coasting (or reeling) in the momentum we have gathered from this slingshot effect.

Go back and evaluate what has happened since late June 2012. What have you learned about yourself? (keep it POSITIVE!) What have you learned about others? (since they are a reflection of your own inner world). How have your relationships shifted? What relationships have strengthened and in what ways? Who vanished from your life? Radical isn’t it?

Let’s get on with the new paradigm! Manifest, manifest, manifest! HELP one another! Be HAPPY! Be LOVE!

Time and Dates of the Eclipses and Equinox

After the last (exact) Pluto Uranus Square on Monday March 16, 2015 at 9:54 PM in Texas, which is also 13 Eagle on the Maya calendar (powerful day all the way around) we will be in the balsamic lunar phase until the March 20th New Super Moon (with a Solar Eclipse), which begins at 29 degrees Pisces. This occurs at 4:36 AM in Texas, 5:36 AM on the East Coast of the US and 2:36 AM on the West Coast. Then the Sun moves into the zodiacal sign of Aries, the beginning of the zodiac in Western Tropical House Astrology.

Equinox exact (the four minutes of balance on a planetary level) occurs at 5:45 PM Texas time, 6:45 PM on the East Coast and 3:45 PM on the West Coast, commencing at the exact time the Sun moves into Aries. Good time to meditate and be still. So you see, this is pretty much an all day event that begins with a Solar Eclipse and ends with the Solar entry into a new element. For those of us in the northern hemisphere we are moving into the element of Air; those in the southern hemisphere are moving into the element of Water.

The total Solar Eclipse (visible in Northern Africa, Europe and the Western part of Asia) is at 29 degrees Pisces 29 minutes. It’s a Total Solar Eclipse in Svalbard Norway and the Faroe Islands, and a Partial Solar Eclipse in Europe, northern and eastern Asia and northern and western Africa. The eclipse starts at 07:41 UTC and ends at 11:50 UTC. This Solar Eclipse will trigger a cycle that will reverberate for about a year or so, with more changes coming. Pay attention to the themes that surface, as they will give you a clue about the year to come.

Be diligent, be cheerful and give thanks you have made it through this three-year portal of radical transformation. Now put it to work for your best interest and the highest good of all.

Change is good,

The Current Energies in March 2015

Written by Sherrie Locke on 8 Tzi, March 2015

How have you been faring in these current energies?

For me, it has been one thing after another, some seeming to pertain to me (*you know it’s all of it) but most seemingly totally related to others. Moms and close relationships have pretty much been key for all of us. Have you noticed yourself getting agitated when people you love don’t take care of themselves?

Personally, this has been a theme throughout my life. As I watch (and sometimes suggest) how things can be improved, suddenly the stress “flips” and funnels right back, making one learn the lesson (ad nauseam) of practice what you preach…or teach.

I’m pretty holistic (some of you who know me are laughing right now, since you know I am the allopathic antithesis point), being a person who only uses Western allopathic medicine for necessary surgical procedures or broken bones.

In this matter you have noticed how people have totally chosen one side of the equation or the other. I have seen recently that there is more attention to food and supplementation. Even allopathic doctors are chiming in on this more than ever.

On another note, we may all be a bit tired or even exhausted from the last three years, so get your rest now while you can. Know your limits but push them a bit everyday. Do set healthy boundaries.

Have you noticed how clearing things out makes room for the new? If so, I bet you are still looking at what else can be let go of.

The Current Lunar Phase and Major Upcoming Square

We are currently entering the portion of the lunar phase to “let go.” Let go of what-ifs and procrastination of all kinds, let go of addictions to people, places and things. Stay centered in your heart.

The next exact Pluto/Uranus square happens on Monday/Tuesday, March 16/17 depending on where you are on the globe. We are thoroughly feeling and sitting in the energy as I write this article. After the exact square, the energy will start to ease up somewhat and the tune will change after we enter this next eclipse cycle, which begins with this next New Super Moon with a Solar Eclipse and the Equinox! Wow, fasten your seat belts!

I will post an article on this event in the next day or so.

Peace and Love,

The First Full Moon of 2015

Written by Sherrie Locke on 5 Ik and 6 Akabal, January 2015.

full-moon

This is my first blog post of 2015. Happy New Year Everyone! My intention with this blog is to write content that is current and relevant to the changes we are all experiencing. Also adding content that is functional with information and exercises to help with this process. It is also my intention in 2015 to start my travel related blog on travel to interesting places and sacred sites and the energies of these different locations, particularly around the region in which I reside which is Guatemala and also Southern Mexico.

Welcome to the new Gregorian calendar year. We entered this year of 2015 on an Imox day on the calendar Maya, 4 Imox, which is interesting based on the fact the the Crocodile (Imox) is seen as the collective consciousness, the water, the deep hidden creatures of all water and thus the primordial Yin. Deep energy indeed. In the Northern hemisphere we are in the element of Earth. In the Southern hemisphere you are in the element of Fire. Soon will come the lunar new year or Chinese New Year, this coming round is the Year of the Sheep or Goat. 2015 is the year of the Wooden Sheep. The Sheep (Goat) is a Yin energy, a symbol of Peace, Harmonious co-existence and Tranquility. That is the primary and fundamental mood for this year.

Back to the upcoming Full Moon at 14 degrees Cancer 31 minutes (in Western astrology). A Capricorn/Cancer axis, this one should be interesting. It occurs at 11:53 PM East coast time, 8:53 PM on the West coast of the US and 10:53 PM here in Texas and also in Guatemala.

This is no ordinary Full Moon event. This full moon and it’s nodes form a grand cross. Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Cancer, South Node in Aries, North Node in Libra. On top of this very powerful Full Moon is Mars opposite Jupiter. It’s a challenge for me to decide which is more potent. I will tell you it will set off polarity. It is the birth of the new, which requires a separation from the original. It is a birthing process. There is a “pushing process” going on, like contractions. Bringing the new forward. Birthing of a new identity, a new future. Mars in Aquarius = BIRTH.

The Mars energy is detachment, so there is a push pull energy going on and the Jupiter energy can make it feel like “too much,” too, too, too much…
Jupiter in Leo says CREATE SOMETHING! It’s the child being kicked out of the womb, be it a job, a relationship or a new identity. It is separation from the norm.

There is the “idealistic” and the “need to live in the future” feeling, and escapism is rampant, the time for that is not now. Now is the time of decision, change, planning and preparation for the future. Does this relationship fit with what I am doing, does this career choice suit my future plans…? fill in the blank… for the FUTURE, which is coming NOW, THIS YEAR! So plan well, evaluate well, get a ‘feel’ for what the dynamics are and if they are a fit with your future.

What are you currently doing for your future?

Blessings for a progressive and prosperous 2015! Happy Full Moon!

Joe Cocker, May 20, 1944 – December 22, 2014. May he R.I.P.

Written by Sherrie Locke on 7 Batz, December 22, 2014

It is with a sad heart that I say goodbye to one of my favorite musicians of all time, Joe Cocker.

Joe Cocker

I have a story about the first (of many times) I saw him live in Dallas, Texas. I was actually way under age, about 14. I had heard on the radio and noticed on the marquee when driving by SMU that there was to be a concert at Moody Coliseum (back when they actually had concerts there). I didn’t yet have a car, which I have been driving since I was 16, so this was way before.

I bought a general admission ticket for the floor area. I was most certain I would find some friends with a car so I could get there and go hang with them at the concert. To my surprise, no one I knew was going and on the day of the concert I had no way of getting there from Garland.

Of course, I had told my parents that it was all worked out and that some friends’ parents would be taking us and retrieving us afterwards. So when that wasn’t going to work, I decided to tell them some story about WHY their parents couldn’t pick me up and WHY I needed a ride to Moody and what time. Of course there were the requisite questions and the “should we call them,” and FINALLY my dad decided he would take me, after all he would SEE the parents…right? I knew the crowd would work for me and of course there were no cell phones back then. So I got myself there to see a show, by myself, by one of my very favorite artists.

Now I am inside, I get to the entrance of the floor area and wow, there were already a ton of people, standing room only, starting to pack up by the stage, even though the show was almost an hour away. I worked my way up to the very front by the stage. Then I realized the stage was at least two or three feet (that’s about a meter for you non-feet people) over my head, I was like hmmmmm, what to do? Move back so I could see, or stay up close hoping to hear his voice without the amps. I decided to stay put. Right before the set started and after Leon Russell did the opening act, I looked up beside me and there was a very tall guy standing there looking at me. He signaled and asked if I wanted to sit on his shoulders, I shook my head “yes,” and a couple of people lifted me up and sat me on his shoulders. I was right at stage level and could cross my arms on the edge of the stage. The lights went down and then, there he was, Joe Cocker, already sweating with a bottle of vodka in his hand. I was right in front of him and he came out on the stage and started out with “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window,” slugging on that vodka bottle and singing and flinging his arms around. I was not more than four feet from him. It was hot and crowded. Then I suddenly realized I was coated with sweat, spit and vodka. I was in Joe Cocker heaven! He was right there! My Idol, singing, and I could hear him with no microphone as he was having a fit of Rock and Roll and I was the recipient of all the wet stuff. *Heaven.

By the middle of the set I looked like a drowned rat, mascara running down my cheeks and smelling like a bar at 2 AM. I was smiling from ear to ear.

Needless to say, I never got to go out with “those friends” anymore, since I came out of the concert drenched in spit and vodka and I had to do the breath test for my dad to believe I was just covered in it rather than had been drinking it.

So I can say I became one with Joe Cocker on that night at Moody and for a long time had the clothes I wore stashed somewhere thinking I would save them forever. Alas, my mom found that dirty laundry one day, and then I only had the memory, but a fine memory it was and to this day my favorite Joe Cocker song was not what he opened with, not even “The Letter,” but the song he did for the encore, which was and still is my very favorite Joe Cocker song, “Unchain My Heart.”

Love You Joe Cocker, you were a huge part of my life and one of my best memories of my early teenage years.

How to Deal with Toxic People

Written by Sherrie Locke on 12 Caban, November 2014.

We have all had to deal with toxic people at one point or another in our lives. It’s not the obvious that I will be addressing in this article.

toxic-people

I am referring to the insidious, sometime even so called “fun” people in our lives. People who are dealing with (or totally ignoring) their addictions. They may be alcoholics or sympathy junkies, they may be addicted to failure or criticism or racism. They may say they want something out of life, but is their behavior really in alignment with their goal?

There are a lot of people who truly believe that sarcasm or stating what bad things can happen in any situation are speaking the truth. Well, this is not the case. It is their truth and they will manifest it. It is not your truth, so don’t confuse this point. They are creating that very thing in their own lives, and if you don’t want it to leak over to you then get away from them. They are toxic and only wish to spread that toxicity to you and everything you do simply by being in your life. Get rid of them now, before you suffer for having them around you in any way shape or form.

Some people say that you can’t pick your family and must stay in a battle with them to keep the peace. Do you see what is wrong with this picture? How can you depend on a family member, an employee or even a friend if what comes out of their mouth is not totally on point with what you wish to manifest in your own life, or if there is a small window that you can interact with them due to some addiction, these are not healthy people, this WILL NOT work. Distance yourself as far as possible from the source or suffer the consequences.

We are in a time in the evolution of the planet when what we think, say and feel reverberates though everything we are creating and is made manifest VERY quickly, so be MINDFUL of what is coming out of your mouth, what you are feeling and if that expression is in alignment with what you wish to manifest.

We are the end of this lunar phase and the end of the Scorpio energies (at least the overall zodiacal sign in Western astrology). This can be a good time, once and for all, to clear the table and get on with what you want to manifest and do. Make sure your words match what you want to see or just say nothing. If you have any addictions, put them to rest once and for all and get on with your life. You might just save a couple of relationships you say you care about. You might have to sacrifice some relationships you thought were important to you. You will be better off all the way around by making this sacrifice.

Full Moon November 6, 2014

Written by Sherrie Locke on 11 Akabal and 12 Net, November 2014

This full moon occurs in the sign of Taurus (in Western astrology). It is the first full moon after the eclipse cycle and solar eclipse (on this last new moon) on October 23/24, 2014. This full moon occurs at 14 degrees Taurus 26 minutes, 5:23 PM on the East Coast, 2:23PM on the West Coast or 4:23 PM here in Guatemala.

full-moonX

How has your life shifted in the last two weeks? What has changed? What is the center of your attention? Is there a new component? A new focus? A new interest or person? Now that you have a good idea what that is, now is the time to let go of anything that does not serve the new you and certainly time to let go of any self limitation and fear based clinging to old ideas, concepts or programming.

Remember, full moons break impasses. What do you want to break free of and move forward into? This may still take some time, but at least you have a better picture of what you DO want and I am most certain a good idea of what is holding you back. So use this energy to break free, with clear intent for your future. Rather than thinking of all the ways things could not work, be open to how things CAN go right and you truly can (and will) manifest your heart’s desire, if you are diligent and true to yourself for the next few weeks and months.

While the moon visits Taurus, she asks us to focus on what is of true value and importance and release what is not. This is the theme of the Taurus full moon Nov 06/07. Building the new, cleansing. Sun in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus in Aries also occurs on full moon day, and this inconjunct just repeats the theme of the last two days. Identify which limitations and restrictions you want to release so you can break through to the new. Use the energy of the Taurus full moon to let go (read my post on letting go). Letting go can be easy, and remember, you are fully supported by the Universe. The only person that stands in your way is you. So just do it, you will surprised at the results.

Let go and let the Universe do its job to bring you your heart’s desire.

Samhain Transitions into Day of the Dead in the Pueblo Nations

Written by Sherrie Locke on 7 Kawoq, October, 2014.

The thinning of the veils is upon us. The time of the year the dead can communicate with the living. You can look all that up on the Internet.

All Souls Day Pilgramige

I was inspired today to tell you how this works at the REZ (reservation, which we call the Pueblo) in the Pueblo (Tewa) Nation. First off, I have never spent these days at my own family’s home pueblo, which is Santa Clara. Many years ago, I was “adopted” into the Tortalita (little tortoise) Clan at Santo Domingo Pueblo, so it is the place I had the honor to participate in these rituals.

The day of Samhain (All Hallows Eve) is a very quiet day at the Pueblo. No trick or treating, not even going out after dark. By the time the sun is setting, everyone is in the house. There are NO festivities on this night. The families sit indoors.

This is a night that is known to be dangerous, one that is best spent inside with the family and elders. The spirits are afoot, both kinds of spirits, the good ones and the disruptive or even dangerous ones. Meditation and prayer is the set. Many times we get to listen to stories from an elder if we are lucky enough to have one in the house.

The next day is completely different and unusual in its own way.

On the Day of the Ancestors, by the door of every home (to the left) is a special clay-fired vessel that holds water with a gourd dipper. When you enter the home (by invitation only, of course) you are offered a drink from the “special” water, and after that, invited to sit with the family. The food is simple, usually some traditional bread and a soup made from blue corn meal with high mountain wildflowers (which are yellow). Now it gets interesting.

You can hear a lot of traffic coming into the pueblo, pickup trucks full of families with tons of food and staples piled in with the kids and the elders too. They are not laughing or talking, they are praying.

Soon there is a knock at the door. I was wondering why nobody made an effort to get up and answer it. Outside the door you can hear the Lord’s Prayer and prayers asking for forgiveness. More knocking at the door, several times before anything happens. Then, the elder (man) of the family finally goes to the door, usually still carrying on the conversation he was in the middle of when the knocking started.

When he swings open the door, there is an entire family standing there, praying and asking for forgiveness, with handfuls of baskets of food. Without ever looking at any of them, Grandfather then takes the food and offerings and shuts the door in their faces. No eye contact, no thank you, nothing — just take the food and shut the door and return to the conversation. All this starts to pile up on one wall of the house, which is now stacked to the ceiling with food, melons, bread (traditional) and what we might call staples. Never is it even looked at nor does anyone care what is there. This goes on ALL DAY long until the house is full of food.

After this had been happening for a while, I asked “Why is this happening?”. Grandfather told me, “It’s the Spaniards from all over the state, coming to the pueblo to ask for forgiveness for what their ancestors did to us.” I don’t know what is done with all that food, I think it is given to the poorest families there. We never touched one piece of it.

Moral to the story… You are still paying the debts of your ancestors. You are also sharing in their blessings and the legacy that was left behind.

Aho! Mitakuye Oyasin!
